2025 - Claim Your Sovereignty and Embody Your Power

Hello my lovely friends!Last year around the same time I wrote about the words or the word I wanted to live by in 2024: Pleasure.

It became a year-long journey where I experimented with the full spectrum of pleasure.

Body, mind, heart and soul.

From my perspective, pleasure is not a hedonistic way of life but centers us in the present moment and connects us to our vitality and well being.

Pleasure is also not a form of escapism but it connects us deeply and intimately with our body. It builds the bridge between body and mind.

Last year brought a lot of ups and many downs, and the pleasure journey was one of trial and error, of failure and of beginning again.

At the same time, the pleasure journey brought me a measure of freedom, permission, acceptance and of authenticity.

As we step into this new year that will bring many changes on a global level, I’ve been thinking about what my place is in the collective.

I am deeply triggered by the fact that someone comes into power that feels he has the right to sexual boundary transgressions. I am distressed that all the hard won progress for women’s rights, for the autonomy of our bodies is put into question.

That yet again we, our bodies are up for grabs.

How do we take care of ourselves collectively, how do you and I take care of ourselves individually?

How do we, older and wiser, measure ourselves not by the metric of men or the metric of youth?

We have to take a stand for ourselves and claim our sovereignty.

Rooted in wisdom, from the inside out, listening to our inner authority. And no longer follow the cultural messaging that writes us off as older women or relegates us to limited roles.

I for one want to find the courage to move into the direction of restoring women’s rights against all odds.

One woman at a time. One female body at a time.

It starts with us individually.

It starts with us finding a way to move our feelings, our irritation, our triggers through our system, our body and not let them get stuck and calcified.

It starts with us finding a way to alchemize those emotions so we can get a sense of security within ourselves.

It starts with us trusting that we have what it takes to meet this moment.

In the words of adrienne maree brown*: Pleasure Activism

It is the work we do to reclaim our whole, happy, satisfiable selves from the limitations of oppression.

Let’s begin this year by reclaiming what’s rightfully ours—our pleasure, our autonomy, and our wisdom. Together, we can create a movement grounded in authenticity, resilience, and joy.

What You Can Do Today:

  • Reflect on how you want to connect with your body and mind. What does true pleasure mean to you?

  • Take one small action that reclaims your sense of self—a movement, a boundary, a declaration.

  • Share your journey and inspire others to stand for their sovereignty too.

Let’s move forward, one step at a time, in the direction of a more connected, liberated, and powerful collective.

Start today. You already have what it takes.

I would love to have a conversion with you. Hear what you have to say! Since I’m not one for having FaceBook groups for discussion, I hope you respond by leaving a comment below my blog.

To a very happy, healthy and abundant 2025!

With love and pleasure!

Theres
